The Aguas de Alicante Institutional Relations Director, Martín Sanz, and the chairman of the Alicante Association Against Kidney Disease (ALCER), Roberto A. Oliver, have signed a collaboration agreement by which the company that manages the complete water cycle will participate in the 'Escuela de Salud en la Enfermedad Renal' (Kidney Disease Health School) initiative (ALCER Chef and Physical Activity).

The initiative consists of holding cooking workshops for patients with kidney disease that provide accurate information on food groups and how to handle them. The workshops put patients at the centre of preparing and taking care of what they eat and include health advice. The workshops also stress the importance of physical activity during the process of kidney disease's development.

'For several years, Aguas de Alicante has allocated the amount usually spent on traditional Christmas gifts for stakeholders to collaborate with groups that are doing vital work in the city, like ALCER in this case', stated Sanz when the agreement was signed.

The Escuela de Salud project 'is designed, among other objectives, to promote the importance of water in haemodialysis treatments'. Roberto Oliver is grateful to Aguas de Alicante for this collaboration 'for the promotion and visibility that these kinds of actions contribute to ALCER, an entity that has been working for over 40 years in Alicante'.
